Parents and young soccer fans will have more ways than ever to experience the excitement of the 2026 FIFA World Cup—thanks to a new partnership between FIFA and YouTube. The platform will become a preferred destination for official tournament content, giving media partners and creators new ways to connect fans with the world’s biggest sporting event.

Under the agreement, FIFA media partners will be able to publish extended highlights, behind-the-scenes features, short-form videos, and on-demand content directly on their YouTube channels. Perhaps most exciting for fans, these outlets will be allowed to live stream the first 10 minutes of every World Cup match—a first for the global tournament. Some partners will even stream select full matches on their YouTube channels, providing easy access for fans who want to sample the action online before tuning in to full broadcasts.

The Associated Press described the 10-minute live windows as an “appetizer” aimed at engaging younger fans and encouraging them to watch full matches on traditional outlets like network TV. In the U.S., Fox Sports (English) and Telemundo (Spanish) remain FIFA’s official broadcast partners for the 2026 World Cup.

For families, this means kids and parents can expect to see an even greater variety of soccer content on YouTube—from highlights and player interviews to creator-led features offering behind-the-scenes glimpses of teams, training sessions, and fan culture across North America. FIFA also plans to unlock classic footage from its historic World Cup archives, giving new generations the chance to revisit legendary moments and players.

FIFA and YouTube will collaborate with a select group of global YouTube creators to capture on-the-ground content during the event. The strategy builds on YouTube’s role as a “lower-tier sponsor” of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, when creators were first invited to bring fans an insider’s look at the tournament experience.

For youth soccer families, the move underscores YouTube’s growing importance as a hub for global soccer storytelling—one that’s mobile, visual, and perfectly aligned with how kids and teens consume sports content today. Whether it’s watching highlight reels together or catching the opening minutes of a live match at home, this new approach helps bring the World Cup energy a little closer to everyday fans.
