The U.S. Women’s National Team has opened the 2026 SheBelieves Cup presented by Visa with a confident 2-0 win over Argentina, setting the tone for a tournament that brings together four of the top teams in the Americas. Now in its 11th edition, the SheBelieves Cup is a four-team, round-robin invitational, with each team playing three matches and the side with the most points lifting the trophy. This year’s event runs from March 1–7 across three U.S. venues: Nashville, Columbus, and Harrison, New Jersey.
Teams in the 2026 field
The 2026 tournament features hosts United States along with Argentina, Canada, and Colombia, all competing over three matchdays. Canada returned to the competition after a one-year absence and is seeking its first SheBelieves Cup title, while Colombia and Argentina continue to use the event as a key test ahead of major international tournaments.
USWNT’s winning start vs. Argentina
In the opener in Nashville, the USWNT defeated Argentina 2-0, with Lindsey Heaps and Jaedyn Shaw providing the goals in a dominant performance. Heaps struck from the top of the box in the first half before Shaw doubled the lead after the break, extending a U.S. run of six straight shutout wins and a 27-1 aggregate scoreline over their last seven games.
The SheBelieves Cup now shifts to Columbus on March 4, where the U.S. will face Canada, followed by a final matchday on March 7 in Harrison, where the Americans will meet Colombia.
Canada opened the tournament with a 4-1 victory over Colombia, putting early pressure on the U.S. in the race for the top of the standings.
